Domino's Pizza Sued for Inaccessible Website

In 2016 a blind user filed a lawsuit against Domino’s Pizza, LLC because he was not able to use his screen reading software to order a pizza on the Domino’s website or mobile app. The Domino’s website and mobile app were not coded to be compatible with screen reading software often used by the blind such as JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver.
Last week the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Domino’s pizza chain does fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act which requires business owners to make their services accessible to people with disabilities.
A website is part of how a business offers services to the public and the content of a website should be accessible to all users.
